Sports and Deep Tissue Massage

Sports and deep tissue massage is not just for the elite athlete but can be beneficial for everyone. This type of massage is designed to focus on the deeper layers of muscle tissue and aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure in the concentrated areas.

Sports and Deep Tissue Massage is beneficial for:

  • areas of the body that have been overworked through sporting or occupational activities
  • chronic tight tissues due to sustained incorrect posture
  • injury rehabilitation, strains and tears of muscles due to exercise, sport or trauma
  • removal of fatigue or lactic acid building up in muscles
  • chronic muscular pain
  • pre race preparation or post competition recovery.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy is a time of immense change within the female body, both structural and hormonal changes cause an increase pressure on joints.  Changes in the body’s centre of gravity present challenges for the body to adapt.  Unfortunately the process of change isn’t always a smooth one, and it’s not uncommon for pregnant women to experience pain at some stage throughout their pregnancy.

During pregnancy a woman may experience body aches and pains, headaches, nausea, fatigue, anxiety and depression – symptoms that can be reduced by massage. These varied types of pain may not be something you need to endure.

Massage is a safe and gentle treatment alternative throughout the different stages of pregnancy which can improve circulation, reduce stress to postural muscles, decrease oedema and increase relaxation.
